The 2016 season was a crazy one for us Cubs fans. It was early in the season that year that I made this Cubbie Bear Hat Pattern. I’m just a sucker for the old school logo from the 80s and I wanted to make a whimsical hat.

If you haven’t heard by now, Cubs fans are a little nutzo. I guess you have to be to stick it out for the 108 year drought. Every year hoping and every year the same, but not this year. Something magical, perhaps the stars aligned, in 2016.

Have you ever had that moment when you know you were watching a memory be made in that moment? I did, as it was the 2nd year my son started collecting baseball cards and would watch the games with his dad. See, I married perhaps the biggest Cubs fan on the south side, and I was watching him pass this love down to his son.

Although I wasn’t the biggest baseball fan, the Cubs were always a part of me. Growing up in Florida, we’d get WGN and the Cubs would be there. I also had my Aunt Marge, who just may be a slightly larger fan then my husband, who would gift me with all things Cubs.

It’s invaded my home. I have salt and pepper shakers, aprons, glasses, coolers, blankets, and even a purse, and that's just my haul. I could go on about Ryne Sandberg or Ron Santo, but just trust me when I say November 2nd 2016 was a big deal in my house. We screamed, we cried, we went out in the middle of the night to buy the T-shirt.

Once I started selling these hats, I started to realize that there are crazy Cubs fans all over the place. So hop on board the crazy train with us and make this fun Cubbie Bear Hat. It's crazy fun and super warm. It’ll take on those Chicago winters!

Let's see the Cubs fans, give us a comment below.
